Elect Deborah Hall Clepper for recorder
I am a lifelong resident of Clermont County. I have watched our county grow and
have seen firsthand the importance of responsible government.
My husband, Dennis, and I have four grown children, Kellie, Ryan, Ike and Timmy
and are the proud grandparents of four. Together we raised our family and
operated our business here. After completing their college, our children all
returned to Clermont County to work and raise their families. We have come from
hard-working families that have been dedicated to making this county a better
place to live and work and I will continue to strive to make our community better.
As a wife, mother, business owner and elected official, I have had the opportunity
to use each of those environments to develop the skills necessary to serve the
residents of Clermont County as your recorder. I have worked hard over the years
to serve my community while maintaining the busy schedule of a family and
business. As a four-time elected Batavia Township trustee, I have worked to insure
that planning, development, and oversight of the township and its assets are at the
forefront of policies and decisions that are in the best interest of my community.
As your county recorder, I will continue to apply those same principles when working for all of the people of Clermont County.
I believe it is necessary and in
the best interest of the office being served, that the elected official responsible for
that office be accessible to the public for their concerns, as well as be available to
the office employees for theirs. I will be in the office full-time, along with the
qualified staff of the recorder's office, to meet the needs of the public. I will work
within the budget to continue improvement of the office, to keep up with technology
and ever-changing legislation, to provide the office users with accurate and easily
accessible information in a prompt and courteous way.
As your county recorder, I will be responsible, responsive and respectful of the
obligations and trust placed upon me as your elected official.
I am a Republican candidate who believes in order to serve the public you must
serve with unquestionable integrity, a strong work ethic, a proven record of
experience, the commitment to serve full-time and a common sense approach to
decision making. I am the best candidate to serve as your next Clermont County
recorder.
I ask for your support and vote Nov. 4.

Three Candidates Running For County Recorder
Two Republicans running in primary contest; victor to face McCoy in the fall
Come November, Democratic candidate for Clermont County Recorder Terry McCoy will face one of two Republican challengers for the seat. With no incumbent running in this election, the voters will be asked to choose from candidates Deborah Clepper and Roger Maham this March to complete the ballot for the general election.
Clepper, a longtime Batavia Township Trustee and businesswoman, is in her second bid for the seat after narrowly losing to current recorder Carolyn Green four years ago. Clepper, who has worked for some time in the Clermont County Auditor's office, said that she has the experience and knowledge to become the next recorder.
"I've served Batavia Township as a trustee for 15 years," said Clepper. "I've also had the experience of working at the Clermont County Auditor's Office since 1996 in a full and part-time capacity. We work closely with the recorder's office and a lot of the business conducted in the auditor's office goes hand-in-hand with the recorder's office. I'm aware of the responsibilities of both and what goes on.
I believe I can serve that office, and I've been interested in this position for four years. I ran four years ago, and lost to the incumbent, but had a good showing."
Clepper, who said that she has a natural interest for records keeping, said that being the official records keeper for the county would not only be a honor, but enjoyable as well.
"I felt four years ago that I was interested in that particular area," said Clepper.
"I thought it would be something I would be good at. I had a very strong interest in that office. I'm very involved in historic things and records keeping, so this is a good fit for me. I think that a lot of information comes from that office, other than just land conveyances. Researching backgrounds, like genealogy and where people come from really interests me. A lot of that information comes from the recorder's office."
Clepper said that she has no intention of making changes to the office if she wins. Changes, she said, can be made when and if they are found necessary. Her campaign, she said, is dedicated to dedication. If elected, she said that she intends to put her full attention on the work at hand.
"It wouldn't be fair of me to say I'm going to go into that office and change things, that's not what I'm about," said Clepper. "I feel like I can be an asset to that office. This or any county position needs a full-time commitment. I'm willing to do that.
If I'm elected, I'll resign my trustee's position, which is something I've had to think about. I'm not sure how the law reads, or if I really care. I'm running to give my full commitment, and I don't want to have two positions. If I'm elected, I'll resign my last year as trustee." |

"I've known Debbie Clepper for years, and saw her commitment to
working hard for Batavia Township residents. She will do the same
for all Clermont County residents as County Recorder."
Tom Niehaus
Ohio State Senator
"I have seen Debbie successfully manage a small business while raising a growing family…and then
go on to serve as township trustee.
She has good judgment and
common sense.
I know she will work full-time
for the taxpayers. I have great confidence she is the
best candidate for
Clermont County Recorder."
.Linda Fraley
Clermont County Auditor
"I have been associated with
Debbie for a number of years.
Debbie displays all of the necessary qualities I would like to see in an elected official. Honesty, integrity and fairness are first that come to mind."
Kevin Riley, Chief
Central Joint Fire-EMS District
